Apple Tech Support
Just spent 2 hours and 5 minutes on the phone with Bob at Apple Tech Support. Did things I'd never done before with the Terminal and Disk Utility Apps, then finally landed on the Sync Services as the culprit. Things are working fine and I can get on with my life!
